Whale Watching & People Watching
These pictures were taken in August when Gram and Grampa
Sparks came to visit.
We
went on a Whale-Watching Adventure, and to a festival in
the North End

I
liked this shot because of the crispness and clarity
=============

I
thought this woman had an interesting face.
She was
outside on the boats deck. I took the photo through a
window
===========

I
liked the color red on this boat
============

I'm
not sure what this rig is all about, but I thought the
colors were good,
as there
was not much blue-sky that day. You can really tell
how that helps to make a good photo...

This
one shows a little "depth-of-field"
================

Here's
an interesting face...
She was inside with us on the boat, with the reflections of
the windows in her glasses
================

Big
ol' ship
==============

This
one is nice with the sails' reflections in the water
and
the
symmetry of the people sitting on the edges of the boats
==============

So,
we actually did see a whale! I got a few photos and
this one was the best. It was a Minky whale...
================
After the boat ride, we went to the North End for the
Fisherman's Festival

Here's
one of the vendors at the festival, selling Italian
pastries.
I
took many similar photos of other vendors, but this one
came out the best...
============

Here's
the reason for the festival. Note the dollar bills...
=================

These
folks were standing around during the
festival
Sort
of reminds me of Andrew Dice Clay, someone from
Trainspotting, and Pauley for the Soprano's
================
The next three photos are from Christopher Columbus Park,
on the edge of the North End

==

Kids
by the fountain always make for a nice shot...
==

I
thought these people looked interesting. Neither are
too happy...
==============
We continued on along the waterfront...

More
interesting folks.
==============

This
was an interesting scene, I thought, especially with the
placement of the woman's hands...
==

Here,
he seems more engaged as she smiles at him...
====================

This
guy walked up, set down his large backpack, and asked
around for a 25-cent cigarette
Note
that he's got it in backwards, probably not to wear out the
tip, as he probably will try to make it last for as long as
possible
=====================
Back by the pier where we took the Whale Watching cruise,
an evening party cruise was preparing to depart...

I
like this shot because the bride to be, as she prepares for
her last night out as a single girl,
seems to
have an interesting expression on her face...
Soon to
be the center of attention, she seems to stand alone in the
crowd
Also,
the mechanics of the photo seem close to perfect
